The English Premier League is the world’s best club soccer league. From August to May, Premier League match days feature some of the best players in the world battling it out on the pitch, fighting for the title and against relegation. The action is aired on television in the United States, but you may be frustrated by your inability to catch the big games if you don’t have cable or satellite. Never fear: We’re here to show you how to watch the Premier League without cable. We’ll lay out ways you can watch Premier League matches free in the United States (and yes, we mean legally), as well as how to watch the Premier League online by streaming games via Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and more.

How to Watch the Premier League Online and Over the Air Without Cable

Your goal is to watch the Premier League without cable, so you’ll need to find a way to watch NBC and NBCSN without cable (and it wouldn't hurt to grab MSNBC and CNBC too). Some skinny-bundle streaming TV options have NBC and NBCSN included in their lineups, and you can also tune in using over-the-air TV, which is the best way to watch the Premier League for free.

Stream the Premier League for free with Hulu

Hulu + Live TV keeps things simple with just one channel bundle. Soccer fans will be pleased at the inclusion of NBC (in select markets) and NBCSN, as well as MSNBC and CNBC, which makes it a breeze to watch Premier League games online using Hulu + Live TV’s awesome apps. Hulu + Live TV also includes access to Hulu’s robust on-demand library. Check out the service for free by trying it on a trial basis.

Stream the Premier League for free with fuboTV

fuboTV was built with soccer fans in mind. Before rebooting a couple years ago, the service was designed to include soccer-focused channels exclusively. The selection is a bit more robust now, but fuboTV’s offerings are still soccer-friendly. NBC and NBCSN are both included — although live NBC feeds are available in select markets only — as are MSNBC and CNBC. fuboTV makes it easy to watch the Premier League online, with no cable required.

Stream the Premier League with Sling TV

Sling TV is designed to allow you to build your own skinny bundle. After starting with a base package or two, you can tack on “extras” to build the soccer-specific streaming service of your dreams without paying for a bunch of obscure nonsports channels you don’t want. As of this writing, Sling TV has pretty limited coverage of local NBC affiliates, but you can enjoy NBC in some markets and watch NBCSN in all of them. For soccer fans, pairing Sling TV with free over-the-air TV (more on that later) would be a great move.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV is Google’s skinny-bundle service, and it features all the channels you need for Premier League coverage: NBC (in select markets), NBCSN, MSNBC, and CNBC. YouTube TV has an unlimited cloud DVR feature and a ton of great content-discovery features. YouTube TV also offers a free trial.

Peacock

NBC’s streaming service is a great choice for soccer fans. It includes all things NBC, and it offers both on-demand content (such as old episodes of “The Office”) and live TV (such as live sports broadcasts — including Premier League games). Peacock offers a free tier, but you’ll want to upgrade to the paid Peacock Premier tier to get your soccer fix.

Free Over-the-Air TV

Free over-the-air TV is a powerful tool for cord-cutters. It’s a great way to get every Premier League game that airs on NBC, but it won’t work for games on NBCSN. NBCSN is not a broadcast channel, so you’ll have to go with a skinny bundle for that, as well as MSNBC and CNBC.

Can I Watch the Premier League on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast?

We are in Canada. I guess they don’t want any soccer to be seen on T.V. unless you pay for it. Sad. How will our kids get into soccer if they don’t watch it on T.V. Sofar 1 gane on NBC. Very sad.

  2. Man City Fan says:

If I’m not mistaken, the TV streaming services will only let you watch whatever game NBC SN chooses to show live. If the team you’re following is playing at the same time as NBC SN picks another game then there’s no way to watch the game of your choice. The NBC Sports app allows you to watch any of the games being played concurrently, but for that you *do* need a cable subscription as far as I can tell.

  3. Zip Davis says:

This article is dated and irrelevant now as NBC has moved live EPL to Peacock. NBCSN and NBC will now only show big EPL matches and likely on a time delay, never live. Peacock is of course not available on Roku or OOTB Fire Stick, in yet another blow to cordcutters.

The best option is “BCE Premium TV” for watching English Premier League or other Top European Leagues. We are very satisfied. I highly recommend it.

Do you know if this service still works?

      1. Anderson says:

Yes of course their service is available

  5. Gunner Bob says:

You forgot youtube tv, $64.99, and can be viewed by up to 6 people in your “family”. Quality is very good.

  6. Mr. Mike says:

You said a way to watch FREE!!! Where’s the FREE options? Looks like the typical used car salesman crap of “bait and switch!” Big deal, several ways to PAY to watch! It’s bad enough you have to pay for cable and still watch COMMERCIALS, then on top of that pay to watch soccer matches??? Those should be FREE, especially TOURNAMENTS and FINALS!!!
